In answer to Ann's question there are more Janeites out there. I am currently working on the Mrs Darcy Sampler a piece I am enjoying each and every stitch on. Elizabeth Bennett is my absolute favourite of all Jane Austen's heroines so much so my youngest daughter is named Elizabeth lol.

Here is where my sampler is at, at the moment.

I'm stitching this on 28ct antique white with the recommended DMC threads.

Sense & Sensibility is moving right along--I love this piece! And I'm having so much fun picking out colors...

I decided on a variegated blue for the verse--I think it looks like faded ink. Still debating what to do with the dormer windows because they just don't really show up correctly in the thatched roof. I may just eliminate them entirely, or change the color of the sashes to match the color of the door. But that's going to wait until I've finished the entire project.

So where is everyone? Surely I'm not the only stitching Janeite out there!

I'm stitching the Sense & Sensibility sampler as a 'frugal project' using only supplies from my stash. It's slow going, as you can imagine, as each color has to be carefully picked.

Last night I started 'auditioning' colors for the verse. This was the 3rd contestant, but I'm not sure she's the right one, either. I think the color needs to be deeper/stronger/darker. Back to the floss box!

I am a happy girl ! I have been a huge fan of Tanya's design for sometime now and have stitched many of her pieces but I only just found this blog! Can you believe it. Email Account Hacked

My email has been hacked, all my contacts have been sent an email that I am in Scotland stranded and need money...PLEASE DO NOT BELIEVE THIS....I am safe and well at home!

The b*****d has also cleared all my contacts etc out of the account too...I have now terminated the email so it is now dead and set up a new one...but I have lost all my friends email addresses...therefore please could you leave your email on the post on my blog ONLY...the link to this post is here...all my comments are for blog owner approval, so I won't publish any of the comments, but they will come through to my email so I can have your email address, I will then delete the comment hence it will not appear on my blog...hope this makes sense.

I finished stitching Cheerful Company yesterday--what a quick and fun stitch it was! I used some antique white linen (much whiter than the photo shows) with 2 strands of DMC floss. Some colors are those listed on the chart conversion, others are just what I had on hand.

I did make a few changes to the design--I made an alteration to the flowers because I messed up on one and didn't want to frog, and I stitched the basket in 2 colors trying to give it a bit of a woven look.

I'm planning to mount this on the top of a wooden box--just as soon as I find the right box--painted to match the purple I used for the date.

Now, what should my next Jane Austen project be?

Hello ,here is my In the kitchen with Jane , I changed the Apples to green instead of red and it is sitting on a window sill in my Kitchen.

Then I just had to stitch this one as soon as I saw Tanyas. I have made it into a pillow for the bedpost 2 pics one with it in situ and one closer. Hope you like it as much as I do.

I did play with the colours again on this one , hope you don't mind Tanya, oh how I love your designs, I am going to do one of your other designs for the other side.Thankyou so much for the inspiration.

The finished Sense and Sensibility stitched with threads recommended by Tanya , the only thing different was the date added at the bottom. I wanted to do the 200 year thing with 1811 and 2011. Thankyou so much Tanya for the design.

Elf Ornie just in time for Christmas!

Hi Fellow Janeites,

I'm new to the group and thought I would share a little Christmas Elf Ornament I just finished. I received this as a gift from Tanya when I placed an order during the Black Friday Sale. I changed the recommended colors to use what I had on hand as I was pressed for time. Someday I will do another one with the fibers called for in the chart. Tanya, you find the most amazing colors. This was a gift I had to send to a friend in England and I added "Elf Sindy" to the ornie because she collects Sindy dolls. Then in my rush I forgot to add the date to the bottom... ;O*

I'm horrible at sewing but I would like to start being more creative with my finishes. I am really enjoying seeing all of your stitching and the really terrific ways you finish your creations.

I am almost finished with the Christmas Eve freebie (I still have a week, right?!) and I currently have the charts for Good Tidings (in progress), Quaker Boo and Clara's Christmas Dance. I look forward to stitching along with you. Thanks for inviting me to the party!

What dreadful hot weather we have...
The Sampler Girl

I've been meaning to post this for some time. I finished the stitching ages ago and put it together, not my best work doing the finishing, I have to say. I also filled it with crushed walnut shells, the jury is still out on that one!

I thought you might like to see my two copies of Pride and Prejudice, the old and the new! The book was given to my mother, probably before or during the Second World War by a former beau of hers named Alec. The inscription inside reads ~

"May those little devils always dance around Lizzie's eyes"

Getting Away with Jane Austen

I enjoyed this piece. I started it on an airplane back in September on a trip to Chicago. A great trip momento.

Made into a pillow keep using the regency fabric and then some regency style gold buttons and lace I had in my stash. The backing is Jane Austen fabric.

Fits perfectly on a bench in my bedroom.

Finished At Pemberley sampler tonight. Framed by me. Frame from Hobby Lobby and it's very heavy. I got it for 1/2 off at 12.50. No glass. open back. Stitched on cream linen, DMC and Crescent colors floss and the fabric is pieced from fat quarters from Tanya's webshop. The tassels are brown and blue and added to it as the model photo on the front of the pattern. I did use more of the brown regal fabric than the blue, really just by chance but I liked the way it turned out. The frame is larger at 9 x 12.

On the Weather with Jane Austen

I have been working hard in moving, sorting, stashing and cleaning through this week. On the Weather with Jane Austen by The Sampler Girl sits by Northanger Abbey here on one of my shelves.

The weather here has definitely gotten warmer during the day so this one is out a little early and also

our upstairs air conditioning unit stopped working on Thursday and it will be Monday at the earliest that we get it fixed. Of course this is where the guest bedroom is and the one I'm also using for my stitching studio as well, it's been a warm week upstairs! Thank goodness for air on the first floor though.

Framed Tea With Jane Austen

Framed today and fits very much edge to edge. The nail is ready to hang in it's new home. I really enjoyed stitching this piece.
This is where it resides, in my upstairs guest bedroom which actually has many stitched pieces in it already but I thought it fitting right over the bedside table near the lamp and a teacup to invite guests for tea.
I changed the cat's color to match our Thomas cat. Otherwise the colors are pretty much to designer choices.

No glass on this piece. I used acid free foam needlework board and my hubbie put a hanger on the back and the rivets.

The next Jane Austen piece for me is Mansfield Park. I just ordered the overdyed threads and fabric online this morning and in the interim stitching another piece.

Thought I would share with all the Janeites.

A very big thank you to Tanya's brother, Will, for making such a perfect fit frame for the piece.

I lost my Emma mini-series

I recorded all three shows for when my hubby was back in Philadelphia (which he was last week). But then I got a little sick and didn't feel much like stitching and so saved Emma for this week to watch while I stitched Emma of course.
Hubby came back in unexpectedly with chest pains and two trips to doctor now with tests lined up this week. Turned the TV on for evening news just now and Dish told me I had to delete all my recordings or risk shutting everything down.
bye-bye, Emma for now. Grrrrr!!!
Hubby didn't have a heart attack yet which is all they ascertained so far (we knew that), but I am not so disappointed about Emma that I can't pray for him.

The pics are pretty dark but, I did get this one finished and framed in a very old fragile frame I found on Ebay a couple of weeks ago. No glass on this one. 32 count cream belfast, DMC colors and Crescent colors substituted for one color of which I did not have in DMC.

I finished this little beauty up last night--stitched on 28 count linen from my stash, using DMC 115 floss, 2 over 2. I'm not sure what form the final finish will take--but once that's done I'll post another photo.
